A card game for two

Two cards. Two answers. A little closer.

A small card game on your phones, for two people who'd like to talk about something other than who's buying milk.

Wednesday · Card 12

We get a year off on full pay. Where are we going?

The answers open tonight

Your moment

You thought your partner would say …

Your guess

“Japan, of course.”

The answer

“Lofoten. A little cabin and no schedule at all.”

A little question goes with you through the day.

  1. 07:24

    The card arrives

Sometimes you share the question, sometimes you have one each, and if yours doesn't suit today you can quietly swap it.

  2. 13:17

You answer when it suits you

A few lines between two meetings, or your voice in a short message. Sometimes you also guess what your partner will say, and a wrong guess is often the most fun.

  3. 20:46

    You turn the card

The evening has settled and the phone lies between you. First the guess, then the answer, and last a follow-up card that keeps you talking a little longer.

A look in the deck

There are questions to laugh at and questions to linger over, small challenges, and now and then something a little flirty.

A gift asks for nothing back.

Three cards a week at most
Some weeks there'll be fewer, because life gets in the way, and that's just fine. Cards never pile up.
Nobody keeps count
There are no streaks and no points here, and the app will never tell you that you've missed something.
You never have to answer
Some days the words don't come, and a missing answer looks the same whatever the reason. You never have to explain.
You pick the days
Choose evenings when you're usually both home, and the week gets a little something to look forward to.

Between the two of you

The answers go, and what you remember stays.

Answers and guesses are encrypted until you open them, and then they're deleted. Unopened answers are deleted after 7 days at most, and there's no archive to go back to.

Cards about sex are off from the start. They only turn on once you've both said yes, each on your own, and a yes is just as easy to take back.

You play the first card side by side.

One phone is enough, and you don't need an account. Your partner doesn't even have to install anything. If you'd like to go on, you send an invitation, like a small gift.

It's free to start, and if you'd like more cards there are card packs. A pack one of you buys is for you both.
